Bouldevines Estate Vineyard

The Bouldevines Estate Vineyard is in the viticulture heartland of Marlborough, New Zealand's largest wine-producing region.

The Bouldevines Estate name originates from the characters of the vineyard property, being boulders and vines. Bouldevines Estate is owned by Philip and Janey Walsh, who are amongst the original grape-growing pioneers of the region. The estate was originally run as a sheep and cropping farm by the Walsh family and during the late 1970's the planting of grapes was seen as an exciting new challenge.

Up until now, the fruit from the vineyard has been sought after by other wineries. As an extension of Philip and Janey's passion, they now reserve the finest grapes for their own distinctive wines. Bouldevines Estate Vineyard in Marlborough now takes its wines to the world's cellar shelves. The Bouldevines launch was with the 2005 vintage Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, both single vineyard wines, grown on the estate.

Mission: Bouldevines mission is to produce distinctively fine wines for the enjoyment of the discerning wine enthusiast.

Sample Tasting Notes:

Bouldevines Sauvignon Blanc 2005

This wine has the characteristics typical of Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough earning international recognition. There is a nose of gooseberry and nettle with a tropical, ripe fruit palate. Its long, intense finish with crisp acidity makes it a very lively, easy-drinking wine.

Bouldevines Chardonnay 2005

An interesting wine with spicy French oak characters over a warm, fruity palate. Made for early drinking, this very subtle wine will comfortably cellar for the next few years.
